Violent crimes, revolving prison doors and shows like "Lock Up" that show prison life?

The system is soft on crime, because of another argument by liberals and conservatives. Conservatives fought for tougher sentencing laws, and liberals fought for prison reform. The liberals wanted and got easier life style for our criminals, figuring this would make them reform their ways and become better citizens, they were once again wrong, it only makes them better criminals. You want to curtail crime, make tougher prisons, make it so horrible that they never want to go back, that they would prefer death to prison, and crime will drop like a lead ballon.
