What's the name of this movie about a writer?

Ok, so I don't remember much but the writer is the main character. He's in trouble with a loan shark or something like that and these Cronies are trying to get the money from him and they wreck his house and rough him up in the first scene. In order to pay back the money he has to finish writing his book. He has a girl assist him with typing the book because I think his hand got injured or something. There is another part in the movie where he has writer's block, So instead of writing that day, he and the girl take the day off because the guy climbs that taking a break from work will get his mind back on track. I think they spend the day in the park or something like that. The girl claims they wasted the day but the guy says that they were "Working" because it helped him get rid of his writers block. The changes the guy made to the book involved not killing off a character. The character he killed off looked kinda old. And that's all I remember. It might've been a romantic comedy
