I have red bumps under my nostril?

Alright so about 2 weeks ago I started to get this rash looking spot under my right nostril. It was a bunch of little bumps clustered together and it was red. After a few days it became flaky and 2 bumps spread down to above my lip. It is still there now, less visable and only slightly red. I can feel the bumps, but they have faded quite a bit. They were never numb or painful or sore, except for when they first showed up cuz I thought it was a pimple and I really irritated the area trying to pop it. I didn't ever really think to ask about it because it never really bothered me. I just assumed it was acne, I normally only get 1 or 2 pimples a month, sometimes a few more depending on how stressful my work week is. I am a 20 year old female. 120 lbs. Average skin type. I have no allergies that I know of yet. The reason that I am worked up about this now is because my boyfriend just started getting a cold sore or canker sore or something. I thought nothing of it at first because he gets them sometimes when he gets sick. But I asked him to look up the lip balm medication for it so I can go pick it up for him and he started reading up on it and he is freaked out now that it is herpes on his lip. Now its not like either of us are stepping out on each other, we are both just severe hypochondriacs. When he typed in the word "cold sore" to google a bunch of stuff about herpes popped up and that freaked him out and he texted me freaking out and at first I was saying no your over-reacting, but then I started thinking about the spot under my nose from 2 weeks ago and now I am freaking out and I just want to know should we be freaking out or are we over-reacting?
